In late March 2025, Michter’s Grasp Distiller Dan McKee and Grasp of Maturation Andrea Wilson accepted the discharge of Michter’s 10 Yr Single Barrel Bourbon.

“Fairly than on a strict age schedule, at Michter’s we bottle whiskey when our manufacturing group deems it absolutely matured. This continues the requirements set by Michter’s first Kentucky Grasp Distiller Willie Pratt,” stated Michter’s President Joseph J. Magliocco.

Because of this, the corporate has generally skipped years for its Michter’s 10 Yr Previous Bourbon, in addition to different restricted version expressions which can be typically thought of annual releases.

The 2025 Michter’s 10 Yr Previous Single Barrel Bourbon is 94.4 Proof (47.2% ABV.). I had the pleasure of sipping the bottle labeled # 25BO726.

The Bourbon
The whiskey’s look in my glass is a deep amber shade, with rusty golden hues hinting noteworthy caramelization from sluggish barrel ageing. With a slight swirl, this whiskey reveals a protracted honey-like viscosity because it slowly clings to the edges of my Glencairn glass. There seems to be pure oiliness to this bourbon whiskey.

The nostril jumps out at me with a toasted vanilla/Caramel burst and a major trace of oak.

On additional investigation I detect dried apricots with conventional baking spices and trace of cocoa, and a brown sugar coated vanilla cookie. The entrance palate is heat clean with honeyed sweetness and a drizzle of caramel.  The mid-palate is viscus and wealthy with toasted oak, vanilla/Caramel swirl and a touch of candy peppery cinnamon.  The end is heat, lengthy, and mouthwatering with a buttery consistency and notes of darkish dried fruits, vanilla and dry oak sweetness.

That is extremely well-balanced with a constant splash of candy oak. The general mouthfeel of this bourbon whiskey is outright superb and attracts me in for a number of pours. It’s viscus, ultra-rich and silky on my palate with a taste profile that roles all through a protracted end.

Michter’s 10 Yr Previous Bourbon is all the time a chic whiskey with a fancy taste profile, and this time round is not any exception. This bourbon drinks like a center aged Kentucky whiskey, in my humble opinion.

The Value
The 2025 launch has a recommended retail worth of $195 for a 750ml bottle within the U.S.
