Laphroaig Single Malt Scotch Whisky has launched their 2025 Càirdeas launch within the U.S. market: Lore Cask Power.
Bottled at cask energy at 59.6% ABV, this bottle marries 5 casks. The casks used included single malts that aged in ex-bourbon, European oak and Oloroso sherry barrels, together with quarter casks.
Distillery-provided tasting notes as as follows:
- Aroma: Candy, natural and peaty. A fruity expression with aromas of apricot, peaches in syrup and lemon cream, mixed with a touch of coconut and a vanilla fudge sweetness. A touch of freshly mown grass and tangy basil can be current, with a slight hint of tobacco and white pepper.
- Style: Opening with peat with a salty sea spray, adopted by a peppery sparkle. Notes of lemon zest, salted limes and caramel dominate, main on to extra natural notes of recent mint and wealthy tea leaves within the background. Delicate spices emerge together with cumin, cloves and ginger.
- End: Citrus sweetness and a phenolic aftertaste.
