A Roosevelt Excessive Faculty senior was killed and two different college students injured after their automobile was hit by a driver going the mistaken approach on State Route 14 in Camas late Monday, Washington authorities stated.
Michael O’Brien, 18, was driving within the westbound lanes of the highway close to mile submit 14 when a driver struck the automobile head-on. Washington State Patrol stated O’Brien died on the scene. Two passengers, 18-year-old Jack Craig and 17-year-old Will Rinehart, had been taken to a close-by hospital with accidents.
Craig and Rinehart are also seniors at Roosevelt, in response to a message from the college’s principal, KD Parman. They’re in steady situation on the hospital.
Parman wrote that O’Brien, generally known as Mico, was days away from graduating.

Parman added:
“As this faculty yr involves an in depth, I’d ask that all of us maintain Mico, Jack and Will and their family members in our hearts, and that we preserve exhibiting up for one another.”
Authorities arrested the wrong-way driver, 23-year-old Erik Moya of Vancouver. Washington State Police stated the preliminary investigation signifies medicine or alcohol had been an element within the collision. Moya is accused of vehicular murder and two counts of vehicular assault. He stays in Clark County custody as of Wednesday morning.
A GoFundMe arrange for O’Brien’s household stated he was filled with promise, had large goals and a shiny future forward. He has two youthful siblings, in response to the fundraiser.
The deadly crash comes two months after a Roosevelt Excessive pupil was wounded in a North Portland taking pictures.
