Nostril: complete class. Numerous apricots and preserved peaches, stewed pears, with darker figs within the background. Then meadow honey, hints of orange blossoms and really gentle peppermint. Then drops of bergamot tea, some previous leather-based and light-weight furnishings polish. Spectacular.
Mouth: very brilliant and fruity, with flashes of apricots, whitecurrants, pink grapefruits and bergamots. Fruit jelly. Mild floral hints (rose petals), plenty of completely different honeys and candy mint. Then some fruit tea and a little bit of candy wooden. Again to peach liqueur and a few vanilla pastry. Good rancio notes as nicely – tobacco touches and a few cedar.
End: very lengthy, candy and fruity, with lingering oak polish.
For a mix of such previous vintages, the brightness and lack of oaky dryness is wonderful. There are jammy fruits, brighter fruits, floral notes and tiny herbs – actually an all-round performer.
