It’s time to open nominations for the subsequent class of The Oregonian’s Readers Selection Awards, and it is likely to be my private favourite: one of the best waterfall in Oregon.

My household moved to Oregon from the East Coast in 1992, and even having spent a good period of time within the Appalachian Mountains, all the waterfalls right here have been like nothing I had seen earlier than.

One of many first hikes we did was the Eagle Creek Path. We have been impressed by Punch Bowl Falls, after which Tunnel Falls was thoughts blowing. For years, when buddies or household came visiting, we’d take them to the Columbia River Gorge Waterfall Hall, and I by no means bored with the journey.

After all, there are many falls outdoors of the gorge. Tamanawas Falls on Mount Hood’s east facet is likely to be my favourite now. (But it surely’s so onerous to decide on!) And I have to plan a visit to the North Umpqua River waterfall hall as quickly as doable after studying outside reporter Jamie Hale’s current story concerning the space.

However sufficient about what I feel. We need to know what you suppose is one of the best waterfall within the state. Nominate your favourite Oregon waterfall for our Readers Selection Awards beneath. Nominations are open till 11:45 p.m. Monday, June 16, 2025. We’ll reveal the finalists on Wednesday, Might 28 at oregonlive.com/readers-choice.
