NAHATÉ, a restaurant and nightlife vacation spot in Dubai, gives a signature cocktail with a daring visible and conceptual twist. The Save The Bear, an extravagant riff on the Espresso Martini, options vodka infused with tonka beans and vanilla pods, chilly brew espresso and blackcurrants.
The drink, served from a nitro-charged syphon into a relaxing Nick & Nora glass, is poured over a frozen Coca-Cola bear. The title comes from the presentation: Because the cocktail fills the glass to the sting, the bear begins to “drown,” prompting the visitor to put it aside by consuming.
Created by Andrey Bolshakov, beverage and advertising director of NAHATÉ Dubai, Save The Bear is priced at 105 AED or $28.59 USD. It’s a playful, thought-provoking expertise that turns each sip right into a small act of rescue, Bolshakov says. In terms of mixology and presentation, “each sip tells a narrative, and each garnish is a dialog starter.”
